Lifting cranes come in a variety of types, each designed for specific applications, industries, and environments. Here’s an overview of the main types:

1. Mobile Cranes

  • Truck-Mounted Cranes: Mounted on a truck chassis, these are versatile and can travel on roads, making them ideal for short-term projects.

  • Rough Terrain Cranes: Built on four rubber tires, they operate effectively on rough or uneven surfaces, commonly used in construction sites.

  • Crawler Cranes: Equipped with tracks instead of wheels, they provide excellent stability and mobility on soft ground.

2. Tower Cranes

  • Commonly used in construction for high-rise buildings, tower cranes provide high lifting capacity and reach. They are typically fixed to the ground or attached to a structure.

3. Overhead Cranes (Bridge Cranes)

  • EOT Crane: Found in factories and warehouses, these cranes consist of a hoist mounted on a beam that moves along tracks. They are ideal for lifting heavy loads indoors.

  • Suspension Crane: It is a suspended under-running crane.

  • KBK Crane: It is a light flexible-combined crane

4. Gantry Cranes

  • Rail-mounted Gantry Crane: Similar to overhead cranes but supported by legs that run on a track or wheels. Gantry cranes are often used in shipyards or outdoor industrial environments.

  • Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane: The traveling mechanism is rubber tires. It is suitable for flexible direction outdoor work.

5. Jib Cranes

  • Floor-mounted Jib Crane: Feature a horizontal arm (jib) fixed with a floor-mounted pillar. They are used for lifting lighter loads in workshops and industrial settings.

  • Wall-fixed Jib Crane: This crane is fixed on the wall or steel structure.

  • Wall-traveling Jib Crane: This crane can travel along the rail tracks on the wall.

6. Floating Cranes

  • Mounted on barges or ships, these are used for heavy lifting tasks in water environments, such as port construction or ship repair.

8. Loader Cranes (Knuckle-Boom Cranes)

  • Compact and often mounted on trucks, these cranes are used for loading and unloading goods. The articulated design allows for high maneuverability.
